Cruising and Rally Events

The season is started gently on the rally front with one or two events in the Blackwater to shake down the boats and get our sea legs, after which the locations become more adventurous when we have trips to sample the delights of the Orwell, Deben and Crouch. The aim is to include as many members as possible with a range of events to try to cover the many varying sizes of boats and different levels of experience and enthusiasm. Above all we want to enjoy good sailing and have some fun doing it.

The Commodore's Cruise, the high point of the cruising season, is held bi-annually and has mainly been to Holland . Many of our members have felt able to make that first crossing of the North Sea with the benefit of a more experienced skipper sailing in company with them.

A host boat provides mouth-watering nibbles at each rally and often one or more members provide the entertainment, usually unintentionally!
